Through improvisation, the three musicians come together, exploring a flow of ideas and influences. Their compositions, such as “The Thicket" and “Far Rockaway," invite vivid memories, while collaborators like Becca, Rogerio, and Chris add their voices, enhancing the album's eclectic spirit.

The ensemble includes Brian Blade, a Louisiana-born drummer who honed his craft in gospel before playing with legends like Wayne Shorter and Joni Mitchell. Bassist Scott Colley, originally from Los Angeles, trained with masters and has toured with Carmen McRae, Herbie Hancock, and many jazz icons. Venezuelan pianist Edward Simon, celebrated for merging jazz with Latin sounds, has achieved significant recognition in the U.S. as a composer and as a member of the SFJAZZ Collective. Together, their shared sensitivity and experience create a profound, transient musical dialogue.
