The Alan Parsons Project's third studio album 'Pyramid' (1978) was one of it's very best. A pristine sounding and ambitious conceptual release, contributors included Colin Blunstone, Lenny Zakatek, David Paton, Jack Harris, and Dean Ford, as well as session musicians like guitarist Ian Bairnson and drummer Stuart Elliott. - The album was conceived at a time when interest in pyramids and pyramid power was high, with pyramids on the back of dollar bills, newspaper stories about their magical properties, and a pyramid on the cover of Dark Side of the Moon. Alan Parsons, the band's engineer and producer, has said that he had always been fascinated by the pyramids' history and mystery, and why Egyptian and Mayan cultures built such structures.
