Count Basie - Broadway Basie's Way + Hollywood Basie's Way

This release presents the complete original LPs "Broadway Basie’s Way" (Command RS-905 SD), and "Hollywood Basie’s Way" (Command RS-912 SD), which feature the Basie band playing well-known songs from stage and film. Among the always illustrious members of the band are such stars as Harry “Sweets” Edison and Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, plus, on the first album, special guest Roy Eldridge. Basie would never record most of the songs on these albums again. As a bonus, three of the very few exceptions – earlier versions by the band of “Just in Time” (with vocals by Tony Bennett), “Secret Love”, and “A Fine Romance” (the latter with vocals by Joe Williams).
