Craig Scott Quintet - Timeline

Craig Scott has been in the ‘engine room’ on bass in many of Australia’s leading jazz groups for over 30 years, and is featured on over 30 recordings, but until now had never recorded as bandleader.

He has worked in the bands of many leading jazz musicians, including Don Burrows, James Morrison, Julian Lee, Kerrie Biddell, Paul McNamara, Judy Bailey, Roger Frampton, Gordon Brisker, Cathy Harley, Trevor Griffin, and Serge Ermoll.

In 2007 he formed the Craig Scott Quintet, linking up with long-time musical associates Warwick Alder (trumpet) and Paul Cutlan (saxophones). To complete the line-up, Craig invited two leading voices in the ranks of the ‘great young cats’, Tim Firth (drums), and Tim Fisher (piano).

Timeline features the Craig Scott Quintet performing his compositions and was recorded live at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Café. The compositions take the listener through a range of styles and tempos that draw on the spirit and tradition of modern jazz.
