This is a fine all-around trio date for veteran pianist Duke Jordan. Possessor of a rather pure bop style, Jordan (accompanied by bassist Wilbur Little and drummer Dannie Richmond) is in fine form on four of his originals (including a brief rendition of his famous "Jordu" which he uses as a closing theme) and three familiar standards. Bop fans should enjoy this one, along with virtually all of Jordan's SteepleChase recordings.
