Janet and I had planned for this reissue of Art Of Lounge Volume 1 & 2 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original CD release in 1997. Little did we expect that Janet would not be with us to see the release of this edition of some of her fi nest tracks, which sadly must now serve as a memorial and testament to her uniquely and deceptively easy style.
Twenty years ago, these tracks represented a labour of love for us.Recorded in various sessions, the tracks were typically spontaneous, joyous takes in an atmosphere of relaxed collaberation with musical friends. Thanks to everyone who helped make the Art of Lounge series a landmark in Janet's discography. She made us all proud.
