Louis Jordan has enjoyed a significant resurgence of interest in recent times through his music appearing in show like Five Guys Named Moe and the Blues Brothers, and this collection takes a further look at his significance in the development of R&B and the roots of rock 'n' roll. Compiled by the eminent broadcaster and writer. Michael Pointon, this CD traces his career from his earliest appearances on record, and includes many of his classic hits. It features him with a variety of lineups on tracks recorded between 1936 and 1950, and includes vocal contributions from Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong.
