Luismi Segurado Trio - Elfrieda

“Elfrieda” is my trio’s third album. I’m very happy to have the support of Santi Colomer, my friend and sidekick since I came to Barcelona, and Masa Kamaguchi, the new and fantastic incorporation to the band, a musician who I’ve always have admired. We’re lucky to share this fresh music with him.

This album is inspired by the figure of Mary Lou Williams. We dedicate this to her. This great woman (whose birth name was Mary Elfrieda Scruggs) was a magnificent pianist that I discovered many years ago. I’ve loved her ever since.

I can relate so much with her music, because I’m crazy about her style. She has the Blues, a lot of Jazz tradition and also a Free touch that makes it so attractive. For all these reasons, I encourage everyone to listen thoroughly to Mary’s music present in this album.

Of course, I want to greatly thank one more time the great support of the album’s producer, my dear friend, from quite some years already, Jordi Pujol Baulenas. Also, thanks to my life partner: The Music!
