Medeski, Martin & Wood - Radiolarians I

Restlessly inventive improvising trio Medeski Martin and Wood have embarked on an ingenious new experiment dubbed THE RADIOLARIAN SERIES.

THE RADIOLARIAN SERIES - named after a type of single-celled organizms with dazzlingly intricate exoskeletons - is designed to subvert the age-old music industry cycle of write/record/tour. The trio, consisting of Medeski, drummer Billy Martin and bassist Chris Wood, will convene for brief writing retreates, perform only that new material on tour, record the materil immediately after getting off the road and release it as an album on their own Indrecto lebel. This is the first in a series of three.
