The biggest group in the history of Miles, Tentet is here. “Tentet” is a term we don’t use very often, but it means a group of 10 people. This term goes as far as a seven-piece septet, and anything more than that is usually just a band or a group. However, the front jacket expresses “Special Tentet”. I really wanted to show that we are a 10-piece band. The front cover uses a photo of 10 people miraculously transferred (Let’s say Al Foster is barely safe). The flowing Milky Way galaxy is from the title Ronnie Liston Smith. Some people may not know what they are excited about, so to explain, the Miles Group, which has repeated trial and error with many members, has become a sitar and tabla under the influence of the album “On the Corner”. With the addition of the players, the 10-member formation in the spring of 1973 is the largest expansion after the 9-member formation in 1972. And the highlight of this tentet is the keyboard Ronnie Liston Smith. He is the person who made hits one after another with masterpieces called “cosmic funk” from the “Flying Dutchman” label. However, many Miles fans do not know that he was in the Miles Group. Because the enrollment period is extremely short, only for a few days in April and May 1973. It seems that the name of Ronnie Liston Smith was listed as a member in the pamphlet that announced the performance in Japan in June, but he did not actually accompany him as a member. This item is the culmination of all existing sound sources in the 10-person formation era when such a valuable Ronnie Liston Smith was enrolled.

The performance on April 13th, which has the best sound quality, is recorded on Discs 1 and 2 as the main. This uses a high-quality audience master that has been on the market for several years, and it will be the highest sound quality ever and the longest version ever. Subsequently, the performance on April 12th is included in Disc 3 as a coupling, but this is an audience sound source that is inferior to the one on April 13th. It has been remastered to remove hiss, noise and reverberation as much as possible. And disc 4 collects and records materials recorded on TV and radio. Of particular note is the sound source on May 1st, which has been available in monaural until now, but this time it is the first stereo version. As a result, the chaotic 10-person performance is separated and the performance of each part can be heard. There is a part where noise rides, and only that point has been edited by replacing the monaural sound source.
As mentioned above, this is all the sound sources currently confirmed by the 10-member Miles Group, in which Ronnie Liston Smith was enrolled. A must-have collection that culminates in the greatest challenge Miles ever attempted.
