"Jazz Cafe Basie" in Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture, where jazz fans and audiophiles from all over the world gather as a sacred place to listen to the supreme analog sound.
The documentary film "Jazz Cafe Basie Swifty's Tan Poetry (Ballad)" (Director: Tetsuya Hoshino) is a nationwide release of the one-of-a-kind sound and "jazz way of life" that the master Shoji Sugawara has been particular about for 50 years.
The sound source of this work is the playback of the analog LP record that Sugawara played in the cafe when shooting the movie, using the line amplifier of the legendary analog recording "Nagra". An unprecedented soundtrack that directly conveys the atmosphere of Basie (including some unused sound sources in the main movie).
