Hidden Heartache is a project by pianist Simone Keller focusing on seldom-heard works in a surprising and enriching manner. Together with Valeria Curti (bassoon), Michael Flury (trombone), and Abathar Kmash (oud), Simone searches for a new home for music that has been overlooked until now.
They sensitively interpret the works of composers such as Ruth Crawford Seeger, Julia Amanda Perry, and Irene Higginbotham – outstanding artists whose talents, despite their brilliance, have been largely ignored. Hidden Heartache brings this music to the forefront, hoping it will receive the recognition it deserves. It's a refreshingly experimental project that invites listeners to listen closely, dive deep, and fully experience.
