The Neville Brothers - Nevilization / 2CD set
2015 US CD release
2015
One of the greatest acts to evolve from the New Orleans music scene, The Neville Brothers formed in 1977 and released their debut album in 1978. In 1981 their follow up "Fiyo On The Bayou" brought the group to greater international attention. Their next album was the 9-track album, "Neville-ization" recorded live at the famed New Orleans club, Titpitina's on September 24, 1982. The set is simple family history celebrating New Orleans R&B. Features some Nevilles classics like "Tell It Like It Is" along with their interpretations of Bobby Womack's "Woman's' Gotta Have It" and The Meters "Africa". The set was expanded to a double disc collection adding another 7 tracks from a legendary show recorded in Bremen, Germany on November 1, 1985. Features a fantastic medley of their classic "Brother John" with the party hits "Do You Wanna Dance" and "Day-O" along with covers of "Jambalaya", "Under The Boardwalk" and a beautiful rendition of "Amazing Grace".
A must have for fans of the Nevilles and New Orleans music.
