Vintage Style T-Shirt (Large) - Monterey Pop Festival Concert Poster Black Lightweight
This Official Monterey Pop Festival Lightweight Vintage Style T-Shirt features the original 1967 Monterey Pop Festival concert poster by acclaimed artist Tom Wilkes. His original poster was printed on a rare foil stock. During his heyday, Wilkes worked on the design of many album covers, including the Rolling Stones' ‘Beggars Banquet’, Neil Young's ‘Harvest’, Eric Clapton's debut solo album ‘Eric Clapton’, Joe Cocker's ‘Mad Dogs & Englishmen’, George Harrison's ‘Concert for Bangladesh’ & ‘All Things Must Pass’ & many more.
The Monterey International Pop Festival, held June 16-18, was one of the high-water marks in the music scene for the year 1967. This ‘Music, Love and Flowers’ festival hosted the first major American appearances by Jimi Hendrix and The Who, and one of the first major public performances by an up-and-coming singer named Janis Joplin. Otis Redding’s performance was also one of the major highlights of the weekend.
Every sale benefits the Monterey International Pop Festival Foundation (MIPFF), a non-profit charitable & educational foundation empowering music-related personal development, creativity, mental & physical health.
